Ingredients: Fresh roasted peanuts, sugar, corn syrup, salt.
Traditional Peanut Bar (from youtube video)
This recipe makes peanut bars just like those sold by Lance and Mr. Peanut.
For 6 bars:
6 Tbsp. light corn syrup (1 Tbsp. per bar)
9 Tbsp. sugar
(1 1/2 Tbsp. per bar)
2 cups salted peanuts (1/3 cup per bar)
Add the corn syrup and sugar in a pot. Stir together and combine well. It will be like a sugary paste. Bring it to a boil over medium heat and give it one final stir. Cook until it reaches 300 to 305 degrees. It will turn color and start to get a little brown around the edges.
Turn off the heat and stir in the peanuts until they are fully coated. Immediately pour into a pan covered with parchment paper and flatten it out. He placed another sheet of parchment paper on top, then a pot holder and push down fairly hard and flatten until you get the thickness you would like.
Leave the top piece of parchment paper on for about 1 minute. Peel off the top paper and let it sit for a couple of minutes more. Lift the peanut bars out of the pan using the bottom piece of paper and cut them while still warm.
Give 15 minutes until completely cooled.
