Thrion (Cheese Stuffed Fig Leaf)
Aristophanes refers to "Thrion" a fig leaf stuffed w/ sweetened cheese demanded by Dicaeopolis. This was probably made from ground wheat in the form of flour in combination with eggs and some sort of fat was used to form a cake-like dumpling along with cheese and honey, which was wrapped in fig leaves and baked. The earliest references call such a concoction θρῖον thrion, which originally meant ‘fig leaf’ later just ‘leaf’, though θρῖον apparently also meant the assembled leaf-enclosed dumpling.
