How to Make an Herbal Bath Bag

Herbal Bath Bag

Herbal bath bags can be used as washcloths and work wonders for the skin and the psyche. A unique combination of skin care and aromatherapy relieves stress and makes an herbal bath bag a treat to bathe with.

Things You'll Need
3 tablespoons oatmeal
3 tablespoons ground sunflower seeds
1 tablespoon powdered milk
1 tablespoon dried lavender
Bar of soap
Grater
Muslin bath bag
Large mixing bowl
Pretty lavender ribbon

Grate 3 tablespoons of soap. Hold the bar of soap as you would hold a vegetable or piece of cheese you were about to grate, then shave the soap until you have 3 tablespoons of shavings. These will provide bubbles and a pleasant smell to supplement the lavender.

Mix all of the ingredients together in a large mixing bowl. You can use your hands or spoon to blend them thoroughly.

Scoop the ingredients into the bath bag. You can make one large bath bag or several small ones.

Tie the top of the bath bag tightly with the purple ribbon. You can make a large bow or leave the ends of the knot trailing for a decorative appearance.

Store the bath bag in a dry place until you are ready to use it. When the bath bags gets wet, all the ingredients will begin to work together to tone, clean and sooth your skin and your mind. Use as you would a washcloth and soap.
