Hot Sandwiches with Gravy
This favorite diner sandwich can be made with roast beef, roast pork, turkey, chicken or meatloaf. It is also a good way to use leftovers from a Sunday dinner.
Slices of meat (beef and pork are best thinly sliced)
Bread (white, wheat, or bread of choice)
Gravy (made from meat drippings)
Homemade Brown Gravy (no drippings)
Make a sandwich of the meat. Place on a plate with potato of choice (mashed potatoes are traditional, but French fries are also excellent). Cover the sandwich and potatoes with hot gravy - you may want to pour some gravy over the meat before adding the top slice of bread. Serve with corn, peas or other side vegetable.
