Creamed Turkey Over Toast

Creamed Turkey is a tradition in many households around Thanksgiving. It's an easy way to use some of that leftover turkey and tastes great.

This recipe is open to many variations. Some people add mixed frozen vegetables or corn instead of the peas. Some like to add fried mushrooms or pimientos. A variation that sounds good is adding crisp bacon; bacon and turkey are excellent together. Others like to add some Parmesan cheese, or parsley or basil for extra flavor. Add some of the herbs used for turkey and dressing on Thanksgiving to bring that flavor in.

Cream Turkey on Toast would also be delicious on biscuits, rice, or mashed potatoes.

Recipe Tips:

Add Gravy: If you have leftover gravy from your turkey dinner, add a 1/4 to 1/2 a cup of it to the sauce. It adds SO much flavour and is SO good.
Vegetables: If you’ve got carrots, peas or beans leftover from your turkey dinner, add those.
