Look no further for a flavor-packed and versatile brown sugar glaze that's perfect for your ham, chicken, salmon, pork chops, meatloaf, kabobs, burgers, roasted veggies and more!

1 cup lightly packed brown sugar
1/3 cup honey (can use maple syrup for a different flavor note)
1/2 cup pineapple juice (or crushed pineapple with some extra juice if you like some chunks) (can use orange juice for a different flavor note)
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (omit?)
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves (omit?)
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger (omit?)
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Place all of the ingredients in a medium sauce pan. Simmer for 7-10 minutes, stirring frequently, until the mixture is slightly syrupy (it will thicken as it cools).

For the best flavor, refrigerate overnight to allow the flavors to fully develop. This brown sugar glaze will keep in the fridge for about 2 weeks.

To apply glaze on ham:

[use extra pineapple or orange juice to baste the ham as it is smoking]

If you’re applying the glaze to your pre-cooked ham, smoke or bake the ham until it reaches an internal temp of about 130 F, spread some of the glaze on the ham, and continue smoking/baking until the internal temp is 140 F. Spread on some more of the glaze, transfer the ham to a platter and tent with foil, letting the ham sit for at least 10 minutes before serving.
