Cube Steak on Toast
FG: I used to eat these sandwiches all the time when I worked at the Texas Hot. They were excellent. You need to make sure that you get a tender cube steak from the round of the beef; some other cuts can be very tough. Or, you could make your own. See How to Cube Steak.
I always liked my with just the butter on the toast, but you could add tomatoes and lettuce, or fried onions and/or mushrooms, cheese, etc.
1 cube steak per sandwich, made from round roast
2 slices of whole wheat bread
Butter
Fry the cube steaks in a pan with butter over medium high heat until cooked through, but still juicy. As the steaks cook, toast the bread and butter it.
Can be served as a traditional sandwich with the cube steak placed between the slices of bread or open faced.
