Fried Apples
4 apples, preferably green such as Granny Smith
Lemon juice
2 tablespoons butter
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons water
Core the unpeeled apples, then cut into circles or slices. Sprinkle with lemon juice so they don't brown. Cook in the butter, turning often, until soft. If you have a sweet tooth or if the apples are bland in flavor, stir in 1/3 cup brown sugar and 2 tablespoons water. Continue cooking until apples are coated with syrup.
You can also dust the apple slice with sugar before frying and dust them with a sprinking of cinnamon.
Good served with Buttermilk Pancakes and Homemade Country Sausage
