Baked Rigatoni
Rigatoni can be made in smaller individual serving size dishes, or in a larger dish for passing at the table.
Spaghetti sauce with meat or Bolognese Sauce
1 pound rigatoni (penne or ziti are also good choices)
Mozzarella cheese
Parmesan cheese (optional)
Make the spaghetti or Bolognese sauce to which browned ground beef has been added. Cook the rigatoni only partially; it will further cook as it bakes. Slice the mozzarella cheese.
In a casserole dish, layer the ingredients, starting with a little meat sauce, then the noodles, then the mozzarella, meat sauce etc. End the layering with a layer of noodles, topped with meat sauce, and then the mozzarella cheese. You can also sprinkle Parmesan cheese throughout the layers or sprinkle some on top.
Bake in 350 degree oven until hot and bubbly. About 30 minutes.
An Idea from the Food Network:
Stand up cooked rigatoni noodles in a springform pan, pour sauce and cheese over them, and bake. Unmold, slice and serve.
