Sea Breeze

A Sea Breeze is a cocktail containing vodka with cranberry juice and grapefruit juice. The cocktail is usually consumed during summer months. The drink may be shaken in order to create a foamy surface. A Bay Breeze, or a Hawaiian Sea Breeze, is similar to a Sea Breeze except for the substitution of pineapple juice for grapefruit juice. It is also closely related to the Cape Codder (which lacks the grapefruit juice) and the Salty Dog (which lacks the cranberry juice and is made with a salted rim).

2 oz vodka
1 oz grapefruit juice
2 oz cranberry juice
lime wedge

Combine vodka and juices in a highball glass filled with ice. Stir gently. Garnish with lime wedge.

How to give the drink a layered look:

Add the grapefruit juice and vodka to a glass and stir.

Fill the glass with ice.

In a shot glass or small pitcher, combine the cranberry juice and 1 tsp. simple syrup and stir.

Tip the glass of grapefruit juice slightly and pour the cranberry mixture along side of glass so that it can glide to bottom.
