Chocolate Chip Cookies
In a mixing bowl, combine and mix, with an electric mixer, until fluffy:
1 1/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. butter or margarine
Add and beat:
2 tbsp. milk [hand written note: "?omitted 5/15"]
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 egg
Gradually add, stirring with a spoon, until well blended:
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
Chill for at least 1 hour to prevent cookies from over-spreading during baking.
Preheat oven to 350° 325°
Drop rounded tablespoons of dough 3" apart on a cool, lightly greased baking sheet. Bake (8 - 10 min.) 13 min. or until edges turn golden. Cool 3 - 5 min. before removing from pan.
Makes 40 [cookies]
Faith Note: I included the changes Mom made to the recipe she typed because the original is what she always made when we were young. She must have been testing the recipe and decide to make the above changes. The changes are hand written.
